Keystone Exemption Collection Overview
Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the mitigation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Department of Education granted assessment and accountability waivers to all 50 states in Spring 2020. Pennsylvania’s waiver establishes a cohort of all students who were enrolled in Keystone ‘trigger” courses in school year 2019-20. It is necessary to “flag” this cohort of students for the remainder of their schooling so that their scores are not included in future “banked” accountability calculations. With that in mind, the Department is introducing a new PIMS collection to gather information.
